Is this for me?

Yes, but that age range is a broad one. In our past courses, we’ve had students as young as 20 and as old as 70. Coincidentally, our coaches and guest teachers also range from their 20s to their 60s. So do with that what you will. We believe that you are never too old or too young to become an entrepreneur.

Is this course for a certain age range?

We’ve had students who run non-profits in our past courses and have found them to be just as enlightening as our for-profit student businesses. Many of the same tools apply, from marketing and social media to fundraising and mastering the sales pitch.

What if I want to start a non-profit?

Then we think you are the PERFECT candidate for this. Part of our first couple of weeks together will be to hone in on the types of products or services that inspire you and that also could make for a nice business. We’ll tackle this together.

What if I don’t know what my business idea is just yet?

First off, congratulations! We know it takes hard work to get to that point. We also know that it’s easy to get stuck once you get started. We’ll be pairing folks off based on how far along they are with their businesses so that we can tailor assignments and classes for all different levels of entrepreneurs. We hope you can use this course to get un-stuck and start growing again.

WHAT IF I ALREADY OWN A BUSINESS?

Both! We want you to dream big, but that dream is YOUR dream. Tbh, there are pros and cons of both routes. Let’s chat about them and then you can figure out which path is the right one for you. All companies are eligible for grant money in our pitch competition.

Is this for companies that are bootstrapped or venture backed?

Our Spring 2022 course will run from March 28th to June 2nd. We have several AM or PM options to choose from for accountability pod sessions on Thursdays. Everything is recorded as well in case you can't join live, with lifetime access.

When does the course start and end?

The Course

That’s totally fine! We know how erratic schedules can be. All coaching sessions will be recorded and stored within a custom online learning portal so that you can go back and re-watch whenever is convenient. You have access for life! While you won’t have the opportunity to ask live questions, you can always do so afterwards in the community.

What happens if I miss a live SESSION?

The assignments are not “mandatory” but we do encourage them if you want to actually make progress with your company and course goals. We provide practical homework each week, relevant to the topic you are learning. This homework helps deepen your understanding of the optic and is work you need to do for your business. We encourage you to do the homework each week and share it with the community. There are prizes for the most active students, including 1-hour group coaching with Brit.

What happens if I don’t complete an assignment?

Both! While the weekly sessions with your business coach are in a group, you'll be assigned an accountability pod to hold you accountable to your goals, as well as have 1:1 mentorship opportunities to give you personalized advice that gets you to the next level.

Do I get 1:1 time or is this all a group session?

Past students say between 2-5 hours per week. We recommend you attend the Accountability Pod sessions live as this is your opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, share your progress with others, and get valuable feedback on your business.

How much time should I expect to spend each week on Selfmade?

The 10-week course covers all the biz topics you need, and culminates in a pitch competition. Classes are available on-demand. Guest Q&As vary week-by-week. When you're onboarded into the community, you'll be placed into an Accountability Pod with your preferred coach.

What is the course structure?

Your accountability pod is there to learn and grow alongside you, and yes, keep you accountable! Pods are lead by a dedicated business coach and include a community of founders with similar goals to you.

What are accountability pods?

Most likely, yes! But no cohort is the same and dates are unknown at this point. Join our Facebook Group to stay posted as there are more announcements.

Will you offer this same course again at a later date?

There are four options: 1) a flat fee of $1997, 2) monthly payments of $667 for 3 months, 3) monthly payments of $347 for 6 months, or 4) monthly payments of $174 for 12 months. Choose whichever plan is right for you, and know that our goal is for you is to make back the money you spend for this course very quickly after launching your new venture. Also, how much have you actually invested in yourself this year? Is the price of learning how to run your own business comparable to a few fitness classes per month or one big annual vacation? We say yes. You’ve got this!
